Center Stage Dance Alliance’s annual spring showcase brings two Disney-themed extravanganzas to the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s Performing Arts Center on Sunday.
“Center Stage Travels to Disney!” brings the high-energy talents of Center Stage’s instructors and students presenting dances to “Tarzan,” “Mulan,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Fantasia,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Pocohantas,” “Beauty and the Beast” and many more Disney favorites, live to the Hilo stage.
As usual, Center Stage’s instructors and choreographers, Pier Sircello, Junior Hakkei, Cheryl Aue, Pam Chong James, Vicky Robbins, Mana Ho‘opai, Katraessa Adamson, Nicole Monette and Max Belliard, put their own creative spin on the heart-warming Disney songs and themes.
There are two shows. The first is at 1 p.m. and features the youngest keiki dancers with the most advanced dancers. The second show is at 6 p.m. and features preteen and teen/adult beginners, again with the most advanced dancers.
Advance tickets are available at Basically Books, 160 Kamehameha Ave., or Center Stage Dance Alliance, 1133 Manono St. General admission is $13. College students, ages 17 and younger, and seniors 65 and older are $10. Tickets should be purchased in advance as past shows have sold out.
Tickets are not available online and remaining tickets, if any, will be sold at the door.
